Simple, Convenient, Effective
In your initial one-on-one consultation, we will collaborate to pinpoint your main areas of concern and focus. Together, we will develop a roadmap to help you regain control over your IBS symptoms and establish realistic goals, allowing you to enjoy life fully without being hindered by IBS. You will also participate in gut-directed hypnotherapy, where I will guide you into a relaxed and focused state.
Following your initial session, we will meet every 1-2 weeks for your follow up gut directed hypnotherapy consultations. In these consultations you will experience a deeply relaxing and powerful gut directed hypnotherapy session. You'll also receive transformative coaching support, tools, guidance, and help to break the vicious cycle of IBS symptoms that you're currently stuck in.
After each session I will send you a recording of the hypnosis from our session for you to listen to as much as possible before our next session.
I will send you 3 additional recordings that will target any specific areas where you require extra support or attention. These recordings will ensure that you have the resources you need to address particular challenges effectively and continue your progress on the journey toward greater health and well-being.
You will receive a variety of worksheets and educational materials designed to deepen your understanding of IBS and the mind-gut connection. The more you learn about IBS and the scientific principles behind hypnotherapy, the more empowered you will feel in your healing process. Understanding the mechanisms at play increases your likelihood of success, as knowledge fosters confidence and motivation in healing.
Your bowel may become overly sensitive to normal sensations, such as gas or fullness, misinterpreting these stimuli as discomfort. This occurs when the nerves in your gut become hypervigilant, sending unnecessary pain signals to the brain, which can further amplify these sensations.
The normal movement of food through your intestines may become disordered, leading to irregular patterns that cause constipation, diarrhoea, or alternating episodes of both. This can also result in increased pressure within your gastrointestinal tract, causing painful spasms.
The good news is that you can restore communication within your nervous system. Through hypnotherapy, you can directly influence this communication, helping the brain regain control over bodily processes that may feel uncontrollable, such as digestion. Hypnotherapy strengthens the "faulty" gut-brain connection, alleviating the painful and disruptive symptoms of IBS.
Many individuals with IBS also experience anxiety about potential flare-ups, which can exacerbate symptoms. By utilising hypnosis to lower stress levels, we can effectively break the stress-symptom cycle, which will overall improve gut function.

The Journey Behind Gut Wellness Guide
Hello I’m Jem, the founder of Gut Wellness Guide and an IBS-focused Certified Hypnotherapist and CBT practitioner. I am passionate about taking a holistic and natural approach to managing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) by combining gut-directed hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and health coaching.
My Personal Journey with IBS
Why specialise in IBS? Because I once walked that difficult path myself. For over a decade I struggled with IBS, desperate for a solution. I tried everything: medications, supplements, restrictive diet after restrictive diet—you name it. I immersed myself in every book on gut health and self-healing, but nothing seemed to alleviate my IBS symptoms. My days were consumed by endless trips to the bathroom, debilitating pain, bloating, persistent nausea and heartburn. I felt trapped in my own body, anxious and incredibly defeated.
It wasn’t until I stumbled upon gut-directed hypnotherapy that my life took a transformative turn. I was inspired by numerous success stories and compelling statistics highlighting hypnotherapy's effectiveness for IBS, and I decided to take the leap and try it out myself. The results were phenomenal; my IBS improved dramatically, and my mindset has completely shifted. After seeing how effective gut-directed hypnotherapy was for me, I knew I had to help people going through what I had experienced. So I decided to study and get a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, and the rest is history!
